
The methods of city design are changing. The affects of regional influence on a place are strengthening at the same time we're seeing a rise in neighborhood activism in planning.
If the next generation of designers are to respond in a meaningful way to our urban problems, it is necessary for them to have experienced both:
1) the globalizing systems that are manipulating this emergence, and
2) traditions in community building.
My research includes regional policy formation, removing regulatory barriers to smart growth, the process of revising land development codes, and methods of public consensus building.
