I remain heartened by the notion that architects are supposed to peak around age sixty.

My work in practice has been focused primarily on buildings, environments, and planning for higher education clients, truly a rarified group that I feel fortunate to work with and for.

While I’ve held academic appointments at a number of institutions, I have since 1998 been teaching design studios with Adam Mitchell at the Boston Architectural College. Our studios are organized more or less around seemingly timeless, but sometimes ignored, themes of measure, territory, sociability, democracy, the ground, weather, tectonics, and the hand.
